Got my assignment in last friday. Was sweet just having it off my back. Also just doing an alright job of writting the assignment. The problem I had was you finish the assignment and you have such a rad idea of what your talking about. The problem lies when you havn't any time to format your assignment or rewrite what you have written. If I had just one more week I could have just completed it and it would have been so much more amazing. Crystal put it "I finished and wanted to write it all again." (I think thats what she said... something like that)
So if you ask me at the moment about youth sub-cultures I can explain everything to you. It's pretty cool understanding what youth do certain things and also how the general population or mainstream culture responds or reacts to these youth. Their opinion of them and typically how 'bad' or 'troubled' or 'at risk' they are. 'Not children but definately not adults'.
:Writting::
So I wrote a song the other night. God just really spoke to me about who He is and all He has done and how we are called to repond to that. How our hearts long to respond to that in light of what He has done and will continue to do. He's just burdened my heart with prayer for the lost and I just pray He would be bringing those He has chosen to Himself. He has just revealed through so many things that we can't explain or convince someone to Christ.
:It's His Work::
Nigel told me this story on the way back from Barker one time of this mate of his. It was raining and thundering and his mate was driving along the freeway and saw the towers at Mt Lofty. He said to God "If your real, strike those towers with lightening" No sooner had he said those words a bolt of lightening hit one of those towers. It didn't matter to him. He just explained it away as coinsidence.
This just pointed out to me the reality of God calling. It is God who brings people to Himself. No one else. All we can do is be obedient to His call on our lives. Moushe is one such friend. Shanti and I just hung out with her one night and the questions just kept coming from her mouth. She was just so hungry to know more of who God is. Shanti and I didn't preach to her or get her to pray a magical prayer that suddenly changed her heart and made her a christian. It was God's hand on her life. It was entirely Him and only Him. He just grew the desire in her heart. "If you confess with your lips that Chirst is Lord and believe in your heart then you will be saved" (Something like that... it's in romans) Moushe's heart believed and she couldn't not confess with her mouth. It had nothing to do with us. She just expressed what was on her heart.
:The Song::
So Paul and I went over the song I wrote and ripped it to shreds.
The process of song writting is so amazing. I loved it.
Just having someone else influence the direction the song is going.
Wether musically or lyrics or even the theme of the song. It was just so rad.
So we ground out this song till the wee hours of the morning where paul then had to finish his assignment for Tabor at 4am. I'll submit the lyrics on here for you all.
It's called "Christ is King (singin' loud)"

I must say Paul plays it better on guitar than I but hey, he gets taught how to play guitar... I don't. Pretty much he'd be my boyfriend if I was gay... Pretty sure I love shanti so I can't be.
So anyway I'll be playing this at church next week with a mad drummer. It should be rad. Paul and I will jump around playing guitar and the church will probably find it "a right cuffufle" - Little brittan.
'For I am not ashamed of the gospel of His name'
